A magnetic loop is ideal for detecting passing vehicles. The equipment consists of a base plate that contains the output relays and a card that is the magnetic detector. Surge protected loop input to the detector. Automatic reset.

A magnetic loop is used to detect vehicles (cars or motorcycles) when the vehicle passes over the loop, the door will reverse its manoeuvre just as if we were passing through a photocell. "If the door is closing and we go over the rectangle where the magnetic loop is, the door will open." We can also place a magnetic loop so that when we are on top of the loop we can open the door. "The door opens only when there is a vehicle on top of the magnetic loop"

The detector should be installed as close to the loop as possible and the connection should be made with braided wire. When the power is switched on, the detector will automatically go into reset phase.

A correct configuration of the loop and the detector will ensure an adequate detection system.

To make a loop, use insulating wire with a cross-section of 1 to 1.5 mm2 and make the number of turns according to the rectangular size chosen. Bury the loop so that its geometry is not altered by the passage of vehicles. The depth of the groove where we will place the loop should be between 3 and 5 cm. The loop should be installed with the sides longer at right angles in the direction of traffic movement. From the loop to the detector, the cable must be braided (intertwined) to prevent this section from influencing the detection (minimum 20 turns per meter). Connect the stranded cable to the connection terminal for this purpose, the length of this section should not exceed 10m, as the sensitivity of the detector decreases with this distance.

INSTALLATION

Bury several turns of cable between 1 and 2 mm² in section in a rectangular regatta in the detection area. The number of laps required depends on the perimeter (sum of the length of the four sides) of the race.

• 3 to 4 meters: 5 turns
• 4 to 8 meters: 4 turns
• 9 to 13 meters: 3 turns
• 13 to 16 meters: 2 laps

The depth of the regatta should not exceed 6cm

Braiding the ends of the cable and bringing them to the detector

Cover the regatta in such a way that no movement of the cable is possible

Connect the 220v power, select the desired sensitivity, press the adjustment button and wait a few seconds. If everything is correct, the green indicator will keep flashing continuously and the red indicator will turn up when it is being detected. If there is an error, it is indicated as follows:

- solid red: cut or shorted loop

- Solid green: too many laps

- Both fixed: Laps missing

Sometimes errors of missing or too many laps are corrected by changing the working frequency with microswitches 1 and 2.

If there are problems with false detections or continuous detection without the presence of a vehicle, reduce the sensitivity and adjust again.
