MAGNETIC LOOPS EXPLANATION

A magnetic loop is ideal for detecting vehicles. The equipment consists of a base plate containing the output relays and a card that is the magnetic detector. Loop input to the detector protected against surges. Automatically reset.

A magnetic loop serves to detect vehicles (automobiles or motorcycles) when said vehicle passes over the loop the door will reverse its maneuver just like if we pass through a photocell. "If the door is closing and we pass over the rectangle where the magnetic loop is, the door will open". We can also place a magnetic loop so that when we're on top of the loop we can open the door. "The door opens only when there is a vehicle above the magnetic loop"

The detector shall be installed as close to the loop as possible and the connection shall be made with braided wire. When the power supply is connected the detector will automatically enter reset phase.

A correct loop and detector configuration will ensure an adequate detection system.

To make a loop use insulating cable with a section of 1 to 1,5 mm2 and give the number of turns according to the chosen rectangular measure. Burial of the loop so that its geometry is not altered by passing vehicles. The depth of the groove where we will place the loop should be between 3 and 5 cm. The loop shall be installed with the longest sides at right angles in the direction of traffic movement. From the loop to the detector the cable must be braided (interlaced) to prevent this section from influencing the detection (minimum 20 turns per metre). The length of this section shall not exceed 10 m, as the sensitivity of the detector decreases with this distance.
